#### 54 Governor‑General may declare countries to be proclaimed overseas countries The Governor‑General may declare by Proclamation that a country is a proclaimed overseas country for the purposes of this Division if he or she is satisfied that the country’s law or custom authorises the solemnisation, by or in the presence of either or both diplomatic or consular officers of that country, of marriages outside that country.
