#### 186 Simplified overview of Part To ensure that persons comply with their obligations under this Act, many provisions throughout the Act provide for criminal offences. To provide flexibility in enforcing this Act, there is also a range of enforcement options that can be used as an alternative to, or in addition to, criminal prosecution. These enforcement options are covered by this Part. The enforcement options (and the relevant Divisions) are as follows: (a) infringement notices (Division 2); (b) enforcement orders (Division 3); (c) ship enforcement orders for regulated Australian ships (Division 4); (d) injunctions (Division 5); (e) demerit points system (Division 6).
