#### 71 Placing persons A maritime officer exercising powers in relation to a vessel, installation, aircraft or land may place or keep a person in a particular place on the vessel, installation, aircraft or land. > Note 1: The exercise of powers under this Act must be for a purpose set out in Division 4 of Part 2. > Note 2: A maritime officer must not subject a person to greater indignity than is necessary and reasonable in the exercise of powers: see section 37. > Note 3: A person arrested, detained or otherwise held under this Act must be treated with humanity and respect for human dignity, and must not be subject to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment: see section 95.
