67Seizing things

#### 67 Seizing things (1) A maritime officer may seize: (a) a weapon; or (b) any thing that the officer suspects, on reasonable grounds: (i) is evidential material; or (ii) is a border controlled drug or border controlled plant; or (iii) is owned by the Commonwealth or a State or Territory. > Note: Written notice must be given if a thing is seized: see section 80. (2) To avoid doubt, a thing owned by the Commonwealth or a State or Territory includes a thing that has been forfeited to the Commonwealth or the State or Territory. (3) A thing seized under subsection (1) is a seized thing.
