#### 32 Offence—operating etc. a vessel without a unique identifier (owner) (1) The owner of a domestic commercial vessel commits an offence if: (a) the owner: (i) operates the vessel, or causes or permits the vessel to be operated; or (ii) causes or permits the vessel to be in navigable waters; and (b) a unique identifier is not in force for the vessel; and (c) the vessel is not exempt from the requirement to have a unique identifier (see section 143). Penalty: 60 penalty units. (2) An offence against subsection (1) is an offence of strict liability. > Note: For strict liability, see section 6.1 of the Criminal Code.
