#### 31 Issue of unique identifier (1) The National Regulator must, by written instrument, issue a unique identifier for a domestic commercial vessel if: (a) an application for the unique identifier has been made under section 30; and (b) the National Regulator is satisfied that the criteria prescribed by the regulations are met in relation to the issue of the unique identifier. (2) Without limiting the criteria that may be prescribed, the regulations are to include criteria relating to the identification of the vessel. (3) A unique identifier comes into force on the day specified in the written instrument or, if no day is so specified, on the day on which it is issued.
