#### 123 Extending period for which something is secured (1) If a marine safety inspector believes on reasonable grounds that a thing needs to be secured under section 100(3), 104(6) or 121(2) for more than 72 hours, he or she may apply to a magistrate for an extension of that period. (2) The marine safety inspector must give notice to the occupier of the premises on which the thing is secured of the inspector’s intention to apply for an extension. The occupier is entitled to be heard in relation to that application. (3) The provisions of this Part relating to the issue of warrants apply, with such modifications as are necessary, to the issue of an extension. (4) The 72‑hour period may be extended more than once.
