269 Power to prohibit operation of particular vessel
S. 269(1) amended by No. 34/2023 s. 127(Sch. 1 item 7.145(a)).
(1) Safe Transport Victoria may, in accordance with the regulations, direct that a particular vessel (whether registered or not)—
(a) must not be operated on State waters; or
(b) may only be operated on State waters on specified conditions for a specified period.

(2) A direction made by Safe Transport Victoria under subsection (1) may be indefinite or for a specified period.

(3) A police officer may, in accordance with the regulations, direct that a particular vessel (whether registered or not)—
(a) must not be operated on State waters; or
(b) may only be operated on State waters on specified conditions for a specified period.

(4) A person must not operate a vessel in contravention of a direction made under subsection (1) or (3).
