254 Grant of pilot exemption S. 254(1) amended by No. 34/2023 s. 127(Sch. 1 item 7.127). (1) On receiving an application under section 253(1), Safe Transport Victoria may grant a pilot exemption to the applicant if Safe Transport Victoria is satisfied that the applicant— (a) has the appropriate qualifications, competencies and experience to hold a pilot exemption; and S. 254(1)(b) amended by No. 34/2023 s. 127(Sch. 1 item 7.127). S. 254(2) amended by No. 34/2023 s. 127(Sch. 1 item 7.127). (2) A pilot exemption granted under subsection (1) may be granted subject to any condition imposed by Safe Transport Victoria, including a condition limiting the exemption to a particular port. (3) A pilot exemption granted under subsection (1)— (b) remains in effect for a period of 2 years after the date it is granted unless sooner suspended or cancelled.
