### 44 Operation of emergency order > > (1)  An emergency order is in force for 14 days from the date on which it is issued. > > > (2)  The planning authority may extend an order, on application by the lessee, for a further period not exceeding 14 days on any conditions it considers appropriate. > > > (3)  An emergency order overrides any marine farming development plan to the extent of any inconsistency. > > > (4)  [*\[Section 44 Subsection (4) inserted by No. 46 of 2017, s. 49, Applied:04 Dec 2017\]*](/view/html/inforce/2017-12-04/act-2017-046#GS49@EN) The planning authority must, as soon as practicable after extending an emergency order that relates to finfish farming, notify the Director, EPA of the extension of the order and any conditions imposed on the extension.
