4 Savings and transitional (1) Those sections of the Marine Board and Navigation Act, 1881 of the State of South Australia which continue to apply to the Territory are amended in their application to the Territory, as set out in Schedule 2. (2) Notwithstanding anything in this Act, a person who, immediately before the date of commencement of Division 2 of Part 4, was the owner of a fishing vessel shall be entitled to use or operate that fishing vessel without obtaining a certificate of survey in respect of that vessel: (a) for the period of 12 months beginning on that date; and Marine Act 1981 2 (b) if before the expiration of that period the person applies for a certificate of survey under this Act in respect of that vessel, until the certificate of survey is issued, or finally refused, or the application is withdrawn.
