### 19B Transitional provision: membership of committee

> > (1) In this section –

> > > ***former committee*** means the Rules Committee of Magistrates Court (Civil Division) as constituted under [Division 1 of Part 5 of the](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1992-027#HP5@HD1@EN) [Magistrates Court (Civil Division) Act 1992](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1992-027) immediately before the transition day;

> > > ***new committee*** means the committee continued by [section 15AC](#GS15AC@EN) under the name "Magistrates Rule Committee";
> >
> > > ***transition day*** means the day on which [Part 5 of the](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-2003-999#) [Justice (Delegated Legislation) Act 2003](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-2003-999) commences.

> > (2) A person who was an appointed member of the former committee immediately before the transition day continues in office on and after that day as a member of the new committee, under and subject to this Act, for the remainder of the term of office set out in the instrument by which the person was appointed to the former committee.
