227 Respecting the amendment of convictions etc
(1) Whenever the facts or evidence appearing by the depositions in
substance support the decision of the Magistrates Court, if the
decision does not extend beyond the information, and if the facts or
evidence would have justified the court in making any necessary
allegation or finding omitted in the decision, or in the formal
conviction or order, or any warrant issued under the adjudication, the
powers of amendment given by section 223 may be exercised, and if
in a conviction there is some excess that may (consistently with the
merits of the case) be corrected, the conviction must be amended
accordingly and must stand good for the remainder.
(2) All amendments are subject to the order about costs and otherwise the
Supreme Court considers appropriate.
