#### 23 Membership of committees 23 Membership of committees > The Vice-Chancellor is, by virtue of his or her office, a member of every committee or board within the University, and, except in the case of the Finance Committee, he or she may, if he or she so desires, preside at any meeting of any such committee or board in the absence of the Chancellor and Deputy Chancellor.
