Sch 1 s 25 Initial scrutiny—electronic votes
25 Initial scrutiny—electronic votes
(1) At the close of the ballot for an election, the returning officer must, in the presence of the scrutineers who are present, review all electronic declaration forms and ballot papers for the electronic ballot.
(2) An electronic vote is informal if—
(a) the voter has not indicated a clear preference for at least one candidate, or
(b) the vote does not, in the returning officer’s opinion, comply with the requirements of this schedule.
(3) Each informal electronic vote must be recorded by the voting website as an informal vote and the voting website must count the formal electronic votes.
(4) An electronic vote is not informal merely because the number of candidates for which the voter has recorded a vote is fewer than the number of persons to be elected in the election.
