73 Interpretation

(1) In this part—

acquisition process means an auction, public tender or other means approved by Local Land Services for determining a fee for a permit under the Act, section 79.

public road includes—

(a) the shoulder of the road, and

(b) another part of the road not designated to be used by motor vehicles.

roads authority has the same meaning as in the Roads Act 1993.

stock warning sign means a sign warning road users of the presence of stock.

stock zone means a public road, or a part of a public road, identified as—

(a) a permanent stock zone under section 75, or

(b) a temporary stock zone under section 76 or 77.

stock zone sign means a stock warning sign displayed under section 75, 76 or 77.

(2) For this part, a stock warning sign depicting a particular kind of stock is taken to apply to every other kind of stock.
