This Order fixes the total number of councillors to be elected for three municipal areas: Derwent Valley (8), Southern Midlands (7) and Waratah‑Wynyard (8). The new numbers take effect at each area's next ordinary election once the certificate of election for that poll is issued after the Order is gazetted. The Acts Interpretation Act 1931 and definitions in the Local Government Act 1993 apply and the changes are incorporated into the authorised version of the Local Government Act 1993.
