This order postpones the Glenorchy City Council ordinary election that was due in January 2022 to the last Tuesday in October 2022 (cl.4–5). It takes effect on Gazette notification (cl.2) and is to be read using the Acts Interpretation Act 1931 as if it were by‑laws (cl.3).
A councillor elected after the 2018 dismissal holds office from issue of their 2018 election certificate until the issue of the certificate for the postponed election (cl.6). The order shifts electoral timing and extends incumbents’ terms; electoral administrators, candidates and voters must adjust to the new timetable.
