Tasmania regulation
This Order sets the closing day for all local government elections as 25 October 2005, revokes the earlier 1999 Elections Order, and takes effect when its Gazette notice appears. It also says the Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to this Order as if it were by‑laws.
Who it affects: councils, electoral administrators and voters. The immediate consequences are administrative: officials must schedule and run polls on the fixed date, meet implementation costs and apply standard rules of statutory interpretation; the Department of Premier and Cabinet administers the Order.
