Tasmania regulation
This Order sets, for each listed Tasmanian council, whether the mayor and deputy mayor are elected by the council's councillors or by the local electors, and it revokes the earlier 1998 Order. It affects councillors, voters and council administration: depending on the listing, either councillors or municipal electors choose the mayor and deputy mayor, shifting who decides and imposing routine electoral-administration responsibilities on the relevant decision-maker.
