218 Confidentiality for members of staff A person who is or was a member of staff of a Commission of Inquiry must not knowingly disclose any material information acquired by the person by reason of being a member of staff, or in the course of the performance of functions under this Act, except— (a) for the performance of the functions of the member of staff under this Act; or (b) for the purpose of any criminal proceedings under section 254 of the **Crimes Act 1958** in relation to the Commission of Inquiry; or (c) if the information is in the public domain at the time of the disclosure, otherwise than as a result of a disclosure that the person knows or ought to have known was unlawful; or (d) as is otherwise authorised or required under this Act or any other Act. Penalty: 120 penalty units or imprisonment for 3 months.
