118Improper use of information

118 Improper use of information (a) the person obtains information as a member of an audit committee, a council, a council committee or a local authority; and

Local Government Act 2019 72 (c) the conduct results in the improper use of the information and the person is reckless in relation to the result. (2) Strict liability applies to subsection (1)(a). (3) A person makes improper use of information if the person uses it to gain some private benefit for the person or another person, or uses it to inflict harm on another person.
