#### 370A Powers of Minister in relation to meetings 370A Powers of Minister in relation to meetings > > (1) The Minister may, conditionally or unconditionally, allow a councillor or a member of a council committee who has a pecuniary interest in a matter with which the council is concerned to be present at a meeting of the council or committee, to take part in the consideration or discussion of the matter and to vote on the matter if the Minister is of the opinion— > > > > > (a) that the number of councillors prevented from voting would be so great a proportion of the whole as to impede the transaction of business, or > > > > > (b) that it is in the interests of the electors for the area to do so. > > > (2) A councillor or member of a council committee who attends a meeting in accordance with this section is not, for that reason only, taken to have engaged in misconduct within the meaning of Division 3 of Part 1 of Chapter 14. > > **s 370A:** Ins 2016 No 38, Sch 1 \[28\].
