#### 36 Conciliation of parties 36 Conciliation of parties (cf LCA 1982, section 71) > > (1) A Judge or an Assessor is not to give judgment or make a final order in respect of proceedings being heard in the Court’s Small Claims Division unless the Judge or an Assessor has brought, or has used his or her best endeavours to bring, the parties to the proceedings to a settlement acceptable to the parties. > > > (2) If such a settlement is reached, the Judge or an Assessor is to give judgment or make a final order that gives effect to the terms of the settlement. > > **s 36:** Am 2025 No 61, Sch 1\[3\].
