13 Appointment and qualifications of Judges
(cf LCA 1982, section 12)
> > (1) The Governor may, by commission under the public seal of the State, appoint any qualified person to be a Judge.
>
> > (2) For the purposes of this section, a person is qualified for appointment as a Judge if the person is—
> >
> > > (a) an Australian lawyer of at least 5 years’ standing, or
> >
> > > (b) a person who holds, or has held, a judicial office of this State or of the Commonwealth, another State or Territory.
>
> > (3) A Judge, while holding office as such, is taken to have been appointed as a justice of the peace.

> > (4) Part 1 of Schedule 1 has effect with respect to Judges.
