### 168 Interests of fisheries officers > > (1)  A fisheries officer or assistant fisheries officer, without the consent of the Minister, must not – > > > > > > (a) have a proprietary or pecuniary interest in a business, company or trust that has an interest in a business involving the taking of fish or dealing in or with fish; or > > > > > > > (b) act as agent for a person who has such a proprietary or pecuniary interest. > > > > Penalty:  Fine not exceeding 50 penalty units. > > > (2)  A fisheries officer or assistant fisheries officer who is convicted of an offence under [subsection (1)](#GS168@Gs1@EN) ceases to hold office on the date of that conviction.
