Plain English Summary

6/10 complexity

This ACMA Licence Area Plan under the Broadcasting Services Act sets how many free‑to‑air TV services must be available in Tasmania, assigns broadcast frequencies and prescribes technical transmission rules (power, tower sites, coverage) for TV transmitters. It directly affects commercial and national broadcasters and Tasmanian viewers.

By planning spectrum and technical parameters, the instrument prevents interference and ensures statewide access to reliable free‑to‑air television, including in regional and remote areas.
