31 Protection of members of Redistribution Committee or Tasmanian Augmented Electoral Commission and witnesses
(1) [Section 31 Subsection (1) amended by No. 38 of 2023, s. 68, Applied:01 Jul 2024] A member of the Redistribution Committee or the Tasmanian Augmented Electoral Commission has, in the performance of his or her duties as such, the same protection and immunity as a judge of the Supreme Court.
(2) [Section 31 Subsection (2) amended by No. 38 of 2023, s. 68, Applied:01 Jul 2024] Subject to this Act, a person appearing before the Redistribution Committee or the Tasmanian Augmented Electoral Commission as a witness at an inquiry has the same protection in any civil or criminal proceedings as a witness in proceedings in the Supreme Court.
