97 Definitions—ch 10 (1) In this chapter: ACT law means an Act or statutory instrument. law means an ACT law or a law of another jurisdiction. law of another jurisdiction means an Act or statutory instrument of another jurisdiction, and includes a provision of an Act or statutory instrument of another jurisdiction. Note Another jurisdiction means the Commonwealth, a State, another Territory, the United Kingdom or New Zealand (see dict, pt 2). Act, in relation to another Territory, includes ordinance. statutory instrument, of another jurisdiction, means an instrument (whether or not legislative in nature) made under— (a) an Act of the other jurisdiction; or (b) another statutory instrument of the other jurisdiction; or (c) power given by an Act or statutory instrument of the other jurisdiction and also power given otherwise by law.
