67 Release and indemnity
(1) If an entity settles a monetary claim, it must do so on terms that include a condition that the claimant:
(a) signs a suitable release; and
(b) if appropriate—provides an indemnity against any claims by third parties arising from the event that gave rise to the settlement.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply if:
(a) the claimant is the Commonwealth or an entity; or
(b) the entity is satisfied that exceptional circumstances apply to the monetary claim or settlement that justify settling on terms that do not include a suitable release or an indemnity.
