Western Australia act
This Act applies the national Legal Profession Uniform Law in Western Australia with WA‑specific modifications, creating a local regulatory architecture (Board, committees, Trust), PII and Guarantee Fund arrangements run via the Law Society, binding legal‑costs powers, and a mandated split of client‑trust interest (majority to the Legal Contribution Trust).
It affects WA practitioners, firms, insurers, ADIs, Legal Aid and the public — shifting recurring revenue from practices to centralized funds, increasing compulsory contributions and compliance, and concentrating operational control in statutory bodies and delegated rules.
