83 Constitution of consultative committees
(1) Each consultative committee shall consist of—
(a) a person who is a member of the law society or a member of
the bar association; and
(b) an officer of the commission; and
(c) such other people as the Minister considers appropriate.
(2) In selecting people to be appointed as members of a consultative
committee to assist the commission to exercise its functions in a
particular locality, the Minister shall have regard to the desirability of
selecting people living, or carrying on a business, profession or trade,
in that locality.
(3) The Minister must appoint the members of a consultative committee
for a period of 1 year.
Note 2 Certain Ministerial appointments require consultation with an Assembly
committee and are disallowable (see Legislation Act, div 19.3.3).
