8 Functions of commission
(1) The commission shall provide legal assistance in ACT matters in
accordance with this Act.
(2) Legal assistance may be provided by the commission by arranging
for the services of private legal practitioners to be made available at
the expense of the commission or by making available the services of
officers of the commission.
(3) If a funding agreement is in force—
(a) the Minister may direct the commission to apply the agreement;
and
(b) the commission shall comply with the Minister’s direction.
(4) The Minister must present a copy of a direction under
subsection (3) (a), together with a copy of the relevant funding
agreement, to the Legislative Assembly no later than 15 sitting days
after the day on which the direction is issued.
