68B Application of merit principle to re-engagements of
statutory officers
Section 68A (1) and (2) does not apply in relation to a second or
subsequent engagement of a person to exercise the functions of the
chief executive officer, or an assistant executive officer, if—
(a) the period of the second or subsequent engagement is to
commence immediately on the end of the period of the previous
engagement; and
(b) the president of the commission has certified in writing that the
president is satisfied that it would be in the interests of the
commission for the person to be re-engaged to exercise the
functions.
