16 Application of Act to pre-existing leases on registration of units plans (a) a person leases premises (the original lease) that are subsequently registered as part of a units plan under the Unit Titles Act 2001; and (b) because of the registration, the person enters a new lease (the new lease) that contains essentially the same terms as the original lease apart from any changes made because of the registration. (2) In working out whether this Act applies to the new lease, the new lease is taken to have been entered into when the original lease was entered into.
