84 Mortgagee of leasehold land coming into possession of rent and profits If a mortgagee of leasehold land or a person claiming the land from or under the mortgagee is in possession of the land or is in receipt of the rents and profits of the land, the mortgagee or other person is, to the extent that the rents and profits may be received by him or her, subject and liable to the lessor of the land or a person entitled to the lessor's estate or interest in the land or to receive the rent reserved to the lessor to the same extent as the lessee was liable before the mortgagee or person claiming from or under the mortgagee took possession of the land or entered into receipt of the rents and profits.
