207 Disclaimer etc. of powers (1) A person to whom a power of appointment, whether or not coupled with an interest, is given may by deed disclaim, release or contract not to exercise the power and after making the disclaimer, release or contract is not capable of exercising or joining in the exercise of the power. (2) Subject to the expression of a contrary intention in the instrument creating a power of appointment, on the making of a disclaimer, release or contract referred to in subsection (1), the power may be exercised by any other person or persons or the survivor or survivors of any other person or persons to whom the power is (3) If a power of appointment is exercisable by an instrument which may or is required to be registered under an Act, the power may be released or disclaimed by a memorandum in the approved form which may be registered under that Act.
