163 Referral of matter for action under confiscation legislation
> > (1) Section 162 authorises the Commission to refer a matter to the Director of Public Prosecutions or the Crime Commission for action under the [Confiscation of Proceeds of Crime Act 1989](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1989-090) or the [Criminal Assets Recovery Act 1990](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1990-023). This subsection does not affect the generality of that section.

> > (2) Such a referral may be made even though the Commission has functions under either or both of those Acts.

> > Section 31 of this Act extends the operation of the [Criminal Assets Recovery Act 1990](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1990-023) so as to confer functions on the Commission.

> > (3) The Commission may enter into arrangements with the Director of Public Prosecutions or the Crime Commission (or both) regarding the class or kind of matters that might appropriately be dealt with by the respective parties to the arrangements.

> > (4) An arrangement does not prevent any of the parties to it from exercising any functions.
