83B Payments into Trust Fund (1) If the Minister decides to compulsorily acquire land in respect of which native title rights and interests exist or may exist subject to a condition that a specified amount be paid into trust in respect of compensation that will or may be payable for the effect of the acquisition on those native title rights and interests, the Territory must pay that amount into the Lands Trust Fund. (2) Moneys paid into the Lands Trust Fund under subsection (1) and interest earned on those moneys are to be used to pay amounts in respect of the compensation payable by the Territory to the native title holder.
