Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This short Act retroactively validates Government Gazette notices issued under the Lands Acquisition Act 1906 that took land for Commonwealth purposes. It declares those earlier notices legally effective despite technical defects, vests the described land in the Commonwealth as of the original publication date, and so secures the government’s title against challenges. It mainly affects past owners or occupiers of such land.
