Tasmania regulation
These regulations add two specific kinds of pipeline- and telecommunications-related works to the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993’s definition of “development” (reg 4). They make installing telecommunications infrastructure alongside a permitted pipeline, and constructing a gas supply pipeline within 10 metres of a permitted transmission pipeline, classes of development. That change brings those works within the Act’s planning/approval framework and therefore affects pipeline and telecommunications operators’ compliance and approval exposure.
