Land Transport Infrastructure Amendment Commencement Proclamation 2014

This Proclamation is the official 'start button' for specific changes to Australia's land transport laws.

It fixes 10 October 2014 as the date when Schedules 1 and 2 of the Land Transport Infrastructure Amendment Act 2014 come into force.

In practical terms:

What it does: Activates (commences) two specific parts of a previously passed Act, making them legally binding from that date onward.
Who it affects: Anyone involved in land transport infrastructure (road builders, state governments, infrastructure planners) who must now comply with the amended rules.
Why it matters: Laws passed by Parliament don't always take effect immediately. This document provides the legal certainty of exactly when the new rules start applying.
