23 Certain informal dealings may be registered

[Section 23 Amended by No. 21 of 1996, s. 5 ][Section 23 Amended by No. 29 of 1997, s. 4, Applied:06 Nov 1997] An instrument that affects any land brought under this Act and that might have been registered under the Registration of Deeds Act 1935 if the land had not been brought under this Act may, in the discretion of the Recorder, be registered under this Act notwithstanding that it is not an instrument in an approved form, and when registered has effect for all purposes as if it were such an instrument.
