145 Moneys paid by Territory may be recovered against
estate of deceased or bankrupt person
(1) Whenever any amount has been paid by the Territory on account of
any person who is dead, that amount may be recovered by the
Territory from the estate of that person by action against his or her
personal representatives.
(2) Whenever any such amount has been paid on account of a person who
is insolvent or bankrupt, the amount so paid shall be considered to be
a debt due from the estate of the insolvent or bankrupt and a certificate
signed by a person thereto authorised in writing by the Minister
certifying the fact of the payment and delivered to the official
assignee or trustee of the insolvent or bankrupt shall be sufficient
proof of the debt.
