217 Registration of instrument lodged before commencement of Act (1) If: (a) an instrument is lodged before the commencement of this Act, but is not registered before the commencement; and (b) the Registrar-General had power to register the instrument when it was lodged; the Registrar-General may register the instrument after the commencement of this Act. (2) If within 12 months before the commencement of this Act an instrument was executed in accordance with the law as then in force, the Registrar-General must register the instrument if it is lodged after that commencement. (3) When registering an instrument under this section, the Registrar- General must exercise the powers that the Registrar-General had at the time when the instrument was lodged.
