48 Owners and operators to provide information about life jackets (1) An inspector may direct a person who is the owner or operator of a recreational boat that is operating on a lake to provide the inspector with information relating to the maintenance, condition or storage of the lifejackets for the recreational boat. (a) the person is given a direction under subsection (1); and (b) the person fails to provide the information stated in the direction within 24 hours after the direction was given. (4) Subsection (2) does not apply if the defendant has a reasonable excuse for failing to provide the information. mentioned in s (4) (see Criminal Code, s 58).
