122 Lost or damaged library materials (1) The library manager may, by written notice, require a person who borrows library material to pay: (a) a fee for failing to return the material; and (b) the cost of replacing or repairing the material if lost or damaged while on loan to the person. (2) Library material that is stolen, lost or damaged remains the property of the council, even if replaced or paid for. (3) A person who receives a written notice under clause (1) must pay the fee or cost within 15 days of receipt of the notice. (4) A person commits an offence if the person fails to comply with clause (3).
