### 54 Answering questions > A person to whom a question is lawfully put under this Act by the court or the Sheriff, without reasonable excuse, must not – > > > > (a) fail to answer the question; or > > > > > (b) give an answer to the question that is false or misleading. > > Penalty: Fine not exceeding 30 penalty units or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months.
