### 53 Allowances and remuneration for jury service
> > (1) The following persons are entitled to be paid prescribed allowances and remuneration whether or not they have actually served as a juror:

> > > > (a) any person who attended for jury service in response to a summons;

> > > > (b) any person who attended for jury service as a supplementary juror.

> > > > (a) was aware of a circumstance that may constitute a reason for being excused under this Act; and

> > > > (b) did not apply to the Sheriff to be excused at the first reasonable opportunity after becoming so aware.
