> > (1) If a judge makes an order under [section 53(1) of the](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-2001-076#GS53@Gs1@EN) [Evidence Act 2001](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-2001-076) , the judge, subject to [section 53(4)](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-2001-076#GS53@Gs4@EN) of that Act, may direct that the jury, at any time before their verdict is delivered, is to be taken under the charge of officers of the court or police officers to view the demonstration or experiment or undertake the inspection.

> > (2) The judge may appoint 2 persons or, if the accused person declines to ask for a shower, one person to accompany the jury.

> > (3) A person appointed under [subsection (2)](#GS52@Gs2@EN) must take the oath or make the affirmation specified in [Schedule 6](#JS6@EN) or [7](#JS7@EN) as appropriate.
